Eight Artist Architects.

An Opening Reception was held from 5:00 to 9:00 pm on Friday, September 11 at the Jim Good Gallery/Studio at 116 North Few Street, in Madison, WI.

This gallery show was open through the end of September, although visitors are always welcome. The studio/gallery at 116 North Few Street on Madison’s near East Side is generally open from 9:00 -11:00 and 2:00-5:00 weekdays (almost every day). Call ahead to be sure someone is there - 608-446-8973. While the original pieces have been sold or returned to the artists, the online exhibit will remain here until the end of 2026.

Eight artist/architects exhibit their travel-inspired art - watercolors, gouache, photography, digital art, & collage. This group of architects come from across the country, and are joined in this enterprise through friendship, shared interest, and a desire to make art and share it.

While the artists are all architects, the art they created for this show isn’t about architecture, per se, but rather, the exercise of really looking at things and seeing what is there.

Sketching, photographing, and painting these scenes reminds us of our moments of fascination with the world around us. The pieces in this show bring back memories of travel and the details that we, as architects, look for and see as part of our background programming, whether in the built environment or in nature.
